MUSIC TEACHING IN CONSERVATORS AND PROCESSES OF INCLUSION OF PUPILS WITH DISABILITIES
Abstract
The current debate concerning the Conservatoires points to the urgency of opening up this institution to the need to make itself available to students with disabilities who wish to study music. One obstacle is a sort of 'vice of origin' of the Conservatories, which have always been configured as oriented towards the valorisation of talent, through a didactics marked by strict discipline. The need to include disability leads them to have to reflect on their pedagogical vision and the teaching methodologies adopted. Not only must conservatoires be inclusive, but they themselves must be fully included in society, freeing them from the logic of the 'ghetto'. This will fully and concretely implement the provisions of Law 508/1999, the application of which has proved and is proving to be more complex than could have been imagined at the time of its enactment.
