FROM EMOTIONAL DATA TO PEDAGOGICAL MEDIATION: HYBRID AND EMOTIONALLY AWARE LEARNING ENVIRONMENTS IN LOWER SECONDARY SCHOOLS

Lucia Ariemma, Generoso Romano

Abstract

This paper examines the relationship between emotional data, pedagogical mediation and educational relationships in lower secondary schools through emotionally aware learning environments inspired by Affective Computing. Using a mixed-methods design with 110 students, the study found improvements in engagement, well-being and prosocial skills, especially among students with Specific Learning Disorders, highlighting the value of emotionally sensitive technologies for inclusive teaching.
