THE PEDAGOGICAL VALUE OF NARRATION IN THE AGE OF ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE
Abstract
Artificial Intelligence (AI), also driven by the rapid evolution of generative AI (GAI) systems, has brought about profound transformations in the educational sphere, both in terms of teaching practices and in the ways the self is constructed. With specific reference to the present contribution, the aim is to explore the value of narration in educational processes in relation to the changes brought about by enabling technologies. Narration, a privileged tool for learning, when integrated with GAI and digital storytelling, opens up new scenarios for identity exploration, offering students tools to connect cognitive, emotional, and social dimensions. Based on these reflections, a project is proposed for students enrolled in the Master’s degree program in Psychology (LM-51), involving the creation of digital storytelling workshops and AI-assisted autobiographical writing, with the methodological goal of fostering critical and informed use of AI in identity formation.
