SENSORIMOTOR INTEGRATION AND BODY REPRESENTATION IN ADOLESCENT IDIOPATHIC SCOLIOSIS: REHABILITATIVE AND EDUCATIONAL PERSPECTIVES
Abstract
Adolescent Idiopathic scoliosis is a multifactorial three-dimensional spinal deformity involving structural and neurofunctional alterations. Recent evidence highlights impaired sensorimotor integration and distorted body representation in this patients. Understanding these mechanisms is essential to develop rehabilitative and educational strategies that enhance postural control, proprioception, and treatment outcomes.
