SUSTAINABLE TALENT DEVELOPMENT IN YOUTH FOOTBALL: PERFORMANCE, WELL-BEING AND CONTINUED SPORT PARTICIPATION
Abstract
This study critically analyses sustainable talent development in youth football by integrating pedagogical, methodological and organisational perspectives. It proposes an integrated sustainable talent development model, which interprets talent protection as a balance between performance, physical and psychological well-being, continued sport participation and the quality of the developmental environment, aiming to prevent burnout, sport dropout, demotivation and early exclusion.
