OUTDOOR EDUCATION: BETWEEN ENVIRONMENTAL SUSTAINABILITY, INCLUSION, AND COHESION OF THE MIDDLE SCHOOL STUDENT GROUP

Domenico Tafuri, Davide Di Palma

Abstract

This study investigates the impact of an outdoor education programme on pollution among 100 lower secondary students in Naples. The experimental group joined interdisciplinary outdoor activities, while the control stayed in class. Using mixed methods, results showed higher cohesion, inclusion, and well-being in the experimental group, especially for ADHD students. Outdoor learning fostered participation, positive relationships, belonging, and responsibility, proving effective for inclusion.
